Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy attends the wreath – laying ceremony at IPKF Memorial
The Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral and Mrs. Girish Luthra who are currently in Sri Lanka on a six-day official visit, arrived at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Memorial in Battaramulla on 15th April 2016 to attend the wreath – laying ceremony and pay tribute to the Indian war heroes.
The Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore Senarath Wijesuriya, Commodore Nandana Jayarathna, the Defence Advisor of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Captain Prakash Gopalan, the Commanding Officers of "INS Tir" and "INS Sujata", Captain CR Ayyar and Commander S Muthukrishnan, a host of senior naval officers and naval personnel also took part in honouring the late IPKF personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during their peace keeping missions in Sri Lanka.
