Navy installs Reverse Osmosis Plant at Maithreepala Senanayaka Vidyalaya - Medawachchiya
As another project of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community service programmes carried out with the intention of preventing Chronic Kidney Disease, the Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardena declared open a Reverse Osmosis Plant (RO Plant) installed for the use of school children at Maithreepala Senanayaka Vidyalaya – Medawachchiya today (4).
Navy’s Research and Development unit utilized their expertise and technical know-how to build this RO plant which was a prerequisite in this area where a lot of school children and civilian have been deprived of safe drinking water. However due to the serious cause of concern of the Sri Lanka Navy over the Chronic Kidney Disease, now the students and the residents are benefited by safe drinking water.
