Western Naval Command conducts a field medical clinic in Handala
 

The Western Naval Command conducted a field medical clinic at the United Community Centre on 25^th March 2016. It was held under the patronage of the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva in coordination with the Lions Club Handala.

Over 520 patients belonging to the under privileged families in the area were treated for respiratory and other ailments. Further spectacles were distributed among 50 persons who were detected with eye disorders. Moreover medical tests were carried out to identify diabetes patients as well. The clinic was conducted by the medical officers and personnel attached to the Naval Hospital Welisara and medical practitioners of the Lions Club.
