Navy builds a Reverse Osmosis plant at Rangiri Ulpath Viharaya in Gomarankadawala
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne declared open a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, built by the Navy for community use at Ranagiri Ulpath Viharaya in Gomarankadawala Yesterday (26). The chief incumbent of the Ranagiri Ulapatha Viharaya, the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niel Rosayro, host of senior officers representing the Naval Headquarters and Eastern Naval Area and a large number of residents in the area were also present on the occasion.
The Sri Lanka Navy has implemented the RO plant project as a social welfare motive for the needy people. This RO plant possesses the capability of refining 10,000 liter of water per day. It will fulfil a long-felt need in the area where a high prevalence of the Chronic Kidney Disease is recorded. As such, the Navy’s community service will be a great relief to the residents who were hard hit by the need of safe drinking water.
