Navy’s 65th anniversary concluding religious ceremony held at Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya
The concluding religious ceremony in view of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 65th anniversary was held at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya on 07th January 2016. A Bodhi Pooja followed by a Bana was conducted invoking blessings on the Navy and naval personnel. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva, senior naval officers and sailors were also present on the occasion.
Sri Lanka Navy celebrated its 65th anniversary on 09th December 2015 giving prominence to religious activities. Merit was invoked on the heroic naval personnel who laid down their lives in the defence of the motherland.
