NWNA annual get-together of the families of War Heroes

The North Western Naval Command conducted a family get-together of naval personnel killed and wounded in action during the war at SLNS Thambapanni in Puttlam on 27^th December 2015. A large number of wounded in action personnel and members of killed in action families residing attended the event held under the patronage of the Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle..

The event commenced with a two-minute silence observed in honour of heroic naval personnel who had laid down their lives to safeguard the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the motherland. A medical and dental clinic and special stalls were held for the family members to receive medical treatment and obtain advice related to salary, pension, compensation and insurance issues. A musical show and special entertainment events were also conducted for the children and the families.
