SLNS Samudura and SLNS Nandimitra on a training and goodwill visit to India
Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessel, SLNS Samudura and Fast Missile Vessel SLNS Nandimitra were on a training and goodwill visit to India from 21st to 24th December 2015. Three hundred and twenty-eight (328) SLN personnel including eighty-nine (89) Midshipmen undergoing their sea training took part in the 04-day visit which allowed them to meet and interact with their Indian counterparts, strengthening the bilateral relations and friendship between the two friendly navies.
The SLN ships made their port of call at Kochi in India and the crew went ashore to make familiarization visits to a number of training schools belonging to the Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy during their stay. The ships’ Commanding Officers paid courtesy calls with the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, the Chief of Staff and the Flag Officer Sea Training of the Southern Naval Command. A reception was held onboard SLNS Samudura where Sri Lankan cuisine and traditional dances entertained the invitees.
