Annual get-together of the families of war heroes at SLN Dockyard

A family get-together of naval personnel killed and wounded in action were held at SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee on 18th December 2015. Approximately eighty three wounded in action personnel and members of killed in action families attended the event held under the patronage of the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro.

The event commenced with a two-minute silence observed in honour of heroic naval personnel who had laid down their lives to safeguard the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the motherland. A medical and dental clinic was held for the family members to receive medical treatment and special entertainment events were conducted for the children including a talent show, a magic show and a musical show. A visit to the naval museum and a harbour cruise were also arranged for the families that attended the annual event. The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit presented gift parcels and vouchers to all the children that were present.
