Nineteen SLN officers graduate from DSCSC Course No. 9

The graduation ceremony of the Course No. 09 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was held at the main auditorium of the DSCSC on 17th December 2015 with the State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

Nineteen officers from the Sri Lanka Navy graduated at the ceremony on successful completion of their staff course. Commander RML Rathnathilake won the Golden Owl Award for the most exceptional performance (Navy Wing) while Lieutenant Commander SK Vidanage received the Golden Pen Award for the best thesis, becoming the first ever naval officer to win that honour in the DSCSC history.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, the Secretary of the State Ministry of Defence, Mr. APG Kithsiri, the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, the Commanders of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishantha De Silva, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala were present at the occasion.
