Pakistan Naval Ship "SHAMSHEER" arrives at the Port of Colombo
The Pakistan Naval Ship "SHAMSHEER" arrived at the Port of Colombo on 30th November 2015 on a goodwill visit. The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on its arrival.
The Mission Commander, Commodore Bilal Abdul Nasir and the ship’s Commanding Officer, Captain Syed Rizwan Khalid paid a courtesy call on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters and the Director General Training, Rear Admiral Udaya Bandara at the SLN Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchanged mementos to mark the occasion. The Defence Advisor attached to the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Rajil Irshad Khan was also present on the occasion. They are also due to call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne.
The Pakistan naval ship will stay in Colombo Harbour till 3rd December and the ship’s complement is due to participate in several programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance mutual relations and inter-personnel interaction during their stay in Sri Lanka.
