Fifteen Indian fishermen arrested in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest fifteen Indian fishermen along with three Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft Island and North-West of Thalai-mannar on the night of 25th and in the early hours of 26th November 2015.

The arrested fishermen were brought to Kankasanthurai and Thalai-mannar along with their trawlers. They were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of Jaffna and Thalai-mannar for onward action.
