Navy facilitates students to fulfill their dream
Navy facilitated to students of the Sri Rathanapala Navodya Maha Vidyalaya, Anamaduwa in Puttalam to fulfill their dream of visiting the world's largest floating book fair, Logos Hope, docked at the Colombo Harbour on 01st November 2015. Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Commander North Western Naval Area provided transport facilities for their journey and treated them to sumptuous breakfast and lunch, enabling them to have an enjoyable and fruitful time onboard the ship in browsing through the thousands of colourful and informative books on display and interacting with the ship's crew utilizing the language skills they have mastered amidst many difficulties living in a very remote area.
The Navy's generosity helped the students, who have little access to meet with foreigners and hear English being used by diverse users in various accents, to have a real life experience with the language they are eagerly learning under the kind guidance of their beloved teacher, Who has been striving very hard to improve the English knowledge of her students by enlisting the support of all well-wishers like the Navy. A number of teachers and parents also accompanied the students on their journey to the capital city of Colombo.
