Foreign cadet delegation visits Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters
A contingent of foreign cadet visited the Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters in Colombo on 13th October 2015. They are from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan visiting Sri Lanka to witness the Hermann Loos Camp 2015 conducted by the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Major Miraza Jahangir Hossain of Bangladesh, Colonel Jayachandran Nair of India, Captain Radhika Bista of Nepal, First Lieutenant Ibrahim Farhad of Maldives and Brigadier Abdul Hayee of Pakistan, who were the respective Heads of Delegation called on the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe to pay their courtesy during their visit to the SLN Headquarters. They were accompanied by the senior most cadet of each country. On behalf of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Ranasinghe welcomed the delegation and conveyed his best wishes to them for a fruitful Sri Lankan visit made under the NCC’s Youth Exchange Programme.
The visiting foreign cadet delegation was provided with a presentation on the history, role, naval ships and craft and naval operations at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium to give them a general understanding of SLN activities. An interactive session was followed allowing the cadets to ask questions on matters needing further clarification. The foreign cadet contingent was also provided with an opportunity to visit several SLN ships at SLNS Rangalla.
