Bangladesh AFWC study team visits SLN Headquarters
A 46-member study team from the National Defence College of Bangladesh, who are on a study tour in Sri Lanka, visited the Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters in Colombo on 06th October 2015.
During the visit, the Head of the delegation, Brigadier General Mesbah UI Alam Chowdhury accompanied by the Directing Staff (Navy), Commodore Syed Misbahuddin Ahmed and the Senior Student Officer Captain Mirza Mamun-ur Rashid from the Bangladesh Navy paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne. They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest with a special focus on training. Mementos were also exchanged on the occasion as a gesture of goodwill. The Director General Training (SLN), Rear Admiral Udaya Bandara and Defence Adviser attached to the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, Commodore S Aslam Parvez was also present on the occasion.
The visiting team, which follow their Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) at the Bangladesh NDC, took part in a presentation on the Sri Lanka Navy in order to gain awareness of its role, structure and operations.
