15 Indian fishermen arrested whilst poaching in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the SL Coast Guard to arrest 15 Indian fishermen along with two Indian steel fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North-East of Point Pedro on 21^st September 2015.

The arrested fishermen and trawlers were brought to Kankasathurai harbour and will be handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Kankasanthurai for onward action.
