Naval troops arrest two persons with 740 Tramadol capsules

Naval troops attached to SLNS Kelani of the Western Naval Command arrested two persons who were transporting 740 Tramadol capsules in a three-wheeler. The arrest was made near Wellaweediya beach on 31st August 2015 with the assistance of Negambo Police.

The arrested persons with the Tramadol capsules and the three-wheeler used for the illegal act were handed over to Negambo Police for further investigations.

The Navy which lends its fullest assistance to the national efforts in eradicating the drug menace from the country, remains vigilant at sea and on land to foil narcotic racket in the country.
