His Excellency the President Mr. Maithripala Sirisena made an observation tour to Naval Base in Trincomalee on 23rd August 2015. He was warmly welcomed by the Commander of the Navy. Governor of the Eastern Province Mr. Austin Fernando, Mr. Daya Gamage and Mr. Asath Sally also participated in this occasion.

Whilst the visit the President undertook a short tour onboard a Fast Attack Craft of the Sri Lanka Navy. The President who went to the Museum observed the craft and weapons captured by the Navy from the LTTE. He also had cordial discussions with the families of the residents of the Naval Base.
