Navy arrests 17 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing

Naval craft on routine patrol attached to the Eastern Naval Command arrested 17 persons with 03 Fiber Glass Dinghies (FGDs) on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the seas off Koneshwaram in Trincomalee on 14th August 2015. Two purse-seine nets were also taken into custody during the arrest.

The arrested persons along with the items were handed over to Trincomalee Harbour Police for further action.
