Two Japanese naval ships arrive at the Port of Colombo
Two Japanese naval ships, "Ikazuchi" and "Murasame", arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and supply visit on 07th August 2015. They were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.
The Head of the Mission, Commander Escort Division One, Captain Atsushi Nakasuji and the ships’ Commanding Officers, Commander Kazuharu Hokazono and Commander Kenji Fujil paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Area Commander of the Western Naval Command, Commodore KG Pual at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo.
As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, the ships’ complements took part in a friendly baseball match with the SLN Baseball Team at Welisara Navy base.
The Head of the Mission and ship’s Commanding Officers are due to pay courtesy calls on the Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka and the Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard prior to their departure on 08th.
