Commander of the Navy declares open Admiral Panteleev's photo exhibition
 

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the photo exhibition titled “Soviet Navy and the Great Victory over fascism in Second World War” held by the visiting Russian naval ship “Admiral Panteleev” on 30th March 2015. He was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival and warmly received by the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Alexander A. Karchava, the Commander of the warship squadron, Captain 1 st Rank Alexander V. Potapov and the ship’s Commanding Officer, Captain 1st Rank Aleksey V. Antsiferov.

After viewing the photo exhibition, the Commander of the Navy boarded Russian Naval Ship “Admiral Panteleev” at the invitation of the Commander of the Warship Squadron and attended a function that marked the friendship and goodwill between the two friendly Navies where he commended their efforts in organizing a very informative exhibition during the short-stay in Colombo.

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva also was present on the occasion.
