Ambassador for People Smuggling Issues for Australia meets Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy

The Ambassador for People Smuggling Issues for Australia, Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski AM, met the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 24th March 2015. The Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Defence Adviser attached to the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka also were among the delegation.

Important matters with regard to the issues of people smuggling were discussed at length during the meeting and the Australian Ambassador for People Smuggling Issues appreciated the Sri Lanka Navy’s commitment and dedication to stop people smuggling. The coordination of international elements by respective governments to curb people smuggling under a regional framework was also discussed in detail.
