Sri Lanka Navy baseball team emerges champions at KL All-star Baseball Tournament held in Malaysia

Sri Lanka Navy baseball team emerged champions at the KL All-star Baseball Tournament held at Kualampur in Malaysia from 05th to 10^th March 2015. Sri Lanka Navy team was selected to take part in the event titled "Goodwill Games 2015" in recognition of their exceptional past performances which had elevated them to the second position in the present national ranking.

With an impressive performance, the SLN beat KL All Star Baseball Club (Malaysia) 13 - 01, Putrajaya State Team (Malaysia), 19 - 01, University of Putra Malaysia Team (UPM – Tigers), 22 - 05 and Singapore National Team, 13 - 01, to claim the championship title. Store Assistant I KAS Madushanka, Able Seaman PHT Madhumal, Able Seaman HAA Shantha and Able Seaman HGSJ Kumara, received the awards for the Best All Rounder, the Best Pitcher, the Best Batter and the Best Fielder respectively.

The champion SLN team was accompanied on their first ever overseas tour by the Chairman Navy Baseball, Commodore UI Serasinghe, the Coach Navy Baseball Amila Pathiraja and the Secretary Navy Baseball, Lieutenant Commander WNSB Dharmarathne.
