Navy takes part in CISM Day Run 2015
 
 

This year's CISM Day Run organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force was held on 22nd February 2015. Over hundred tri-forces personnel participated in the mega event which was flagged off opposite the Air Force Rifle Green Grounds at 6.15 am. The run covered a distance of 02 kilometres and participants received certificates which were presented by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Major General Mahinda Ambanpola on completion of their run. The Chief of Staff of the Navy, senior naval officers, senior and junior sailors were also present at the event.

The event was conducted under the aegis of the Brussels-based International Military Sports Council (Conseil International du Sport Militaire - CISM) with its aim of promoting sports among military personnel. Totally integrated in CISM solidarity principles, the event helps disseminate the CISM motto, “Friendship through Sport” among millions of service personnel of 133 CISM member nations.
