Commander of the Navy declares open women sailors’ mess at SLNS Gemunu
 

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the Women Sailors’ Mess at SLNS Gemunu on 22nd January 2015. The President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Shalika Perera, the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dayananda Nanayakkara and senior naval officers were also present on the occasion.

The four-storied mess has been constructed to provide better accommodation facilities for women sailors. The spacious facility can house 400 inmates. It is located at a convenient location for women sailors to return to after duties.
