North Western Naval Command conducts field medical clinic in Mannar
 
 

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, the North Western Naval Command conducted a field health clinic at the Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School in Mannar on 16th November 2014. It was held under the patronage of the Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva.

A large number of civilians from the newly resettled villages of Pookkulum, Karadakkuli and Marichchikaddi south in the Mannar district benefited from the clinic.

Treatments were given for communicable, non-communicable and respiratory diseases, child health problems as well as old age health problems. Women health care at primary level was also looked into during the clinic. Medicine and nutritional supplements were provided free of charge by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC), Thriposha Lanka Ltd, Hemas Pharmaceutical and Interpharma Ltd.
