North Western Naval Command conducts a field health clinic

As part of the Navy’s Community Development Project, the North Western Naval Command conducted a field health clinic at the Catholic Church in the Baththalangunduwa Island on 10th August 2014 under the patronage of Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva.

The clinic conducted to improve the health standards of newly-resettled families in Baththalangunduwa, Uchchamunai, Sinnagunduwa and Palliyawatta.

Treatments were given to communicable, non-communicable and respiratory diseases, child health as well as old age health problems. Women health care at primary level was also looked in to during the clinic. A large number of patients attended the clinic. Medicine and nutritional supplements were provided free of charge.

A team of medical professionals including Medical Officers from Biyagama and Kelaniya along with consultants, pharmacists and midwives rendered assistance to the successful conducted of the field health clinic.
