In view of the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, a Sailors’ Get-together was held at ‘Wave n’ Lake’ Navy Hall in Welisara on 07 Nov 25. The event was organized as part of a series of celebratory programmes marking this significant 75-year milestone in the Navy’s proud journey.

As part of its Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, the Sri Lanka Navy declared open a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at Medabedda Maha Vidyalaya in Galewela, Mathale on 31 Oct 25.

The President of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veterans’ Association Poppy Committee, Major General Mahinda Mudalige (Retd), pinned a poppy on Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at Navy Headquarters on 04 Nov 25. This solemn act was conducted in commemoration of Remembrance Day 2025, honouring the service and sacrifice of fallen military personnel.

The Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) ship AKEBONO which arrived in Sri Lanka on a goodwill visit, departed the island today (31 Oct 25). The Sri Lanka Navy bade a customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

In a significant step to deepen bilateral naval cooperation, the Sri Lanka Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) successfully conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the western seas on 31 OCT 25.

The Sri Lanka Navy extended vital diving assistance on 27 Oct 25 to restore the worn-out sluice gate of the Sembukuliya Tank in Mahakumbukkadawala, Puttalam.

As part of the series of events commemorating its 75th anniversary, along with World Oral Health Day and Children’s Day, the Sri Lanka Navy successfully conducted a mobile dental clinic at the Sirisumana Dhamma School in Veyangoda on 26 Oct 25.

Navy receives a set of firearms of Onboard Security Teams (OBST) on 30 Oct 25, as part of maritime security operations project to provide services and facilities to foreign Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSC).
