Navy nabs a suspect with Kerala cannabis worth over of Rs. 4 million street value in Mannar

A special search operation conducted by the Navy in Pesalai, Mannar in the dark hours on 23rd July 2022 lead to the apprehension of a suspect with about 14kg and 980g of Kerala cannabis.

The special search operation was mounted by SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command with the assistance of Mannar Police in Pesalai area on 23rd July. The coordinated search has made way to the apprehension of a suspect with about 14kg and 980g of Kerala cannabis in 07 packages, in his possession.

The gross street value of Kerala cannabis held in this search operation is believed to be over Rs. 04 million.

Meanwhile, the suspect apprehended was identified as resident of Pesalai, aged 34. The suspect together with Kerala cannabis was handed over to Mannar Police for onward legal proceedings.
