Navy assists apprehension of 02 persons for transporting Kerala Cannabis by luxurious van

The Navy, in coordination with the Police, apprehended 02 persons with drugs belonging to the category of Kerala cannabis in Kochchikade area on 11^th July 2020.

A special joint operation by the naval personnel of Western Naval Command and the Negombo Police was conducted in Kochchikade area. During the operation, a suspicious luxurious van was observed and by searching it 04kg of Kerala cannabis which was hidden inside the van for transportation, was found. Accordingly, the quantity of Kerala Cannabis, the van and two suspects travelling in the vehicle was apprehended.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Leehiriyagama area, aged 27 and 38. The Negombo Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
