A suspect possessed Kerala cannabis apprehend with assistance of Navy

A person who possessed Kerala cannabis, was apprehend during an operation carried out by Navy in coordination with Police STF, at Navachchole area in Nilaweli on 09^th July 2020.

SL Navy is continuing its operations to prevent illegal drug smuggling in assistance to the national effort of drug prevention. Accordingly, such an operation was conducted by Naval personnel of Eastern Naval Command in coordination with Police STF-Sardhapura, at Navachchole area in Nilaweli. While the operation, a suspicious person was searched and found 450g of Kerala cannabis which was made ready for sale, in his possession. The amount of Kerala cannabis and the suspect were taken into custody.

The suspect is a resident of the Kumburupiddi area in Navachchole aged 27. Recovered amount of Kerala cannabis and the suspect were handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for onward investigation.
