Person apprehended with Kerala cannabis

A person with 36.93g of Kerala cannabis was apprehend during a operation carried out by Navy in coordination with SL Police, at Sippikulama area in Hambanthota, on 7^th April 2020.

While contributing in the campaigns to control coronavirus over the country, SL Navy is continuing its operations to prevent illegal activities. Accordingly, during a search operation conducted by a team of naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command in coordination with Police STF-Ambalanthota, at Sippikulama area in Hambanthota, a suspicious three wheeler which was driven ignoring the curfew had been searched. By the search, 36.93g of Kerala cannabis which was made ready and transporting for sale, hidden secretly inside the three wheeler, was recovered. The amount of Kerala cannabis, three wheeler and the suspect were taken into custody.

The apprehended suspect is a resident of the same area, aged 34. Recovered Kerala cannabis, three wheeler and the suspect were handed over to Hambanthota Police for onward investigation.
