Navy assists apprehension of person with Kerala cannabis
The Navy apprehended a suspect in possession of about 700g of Kerala cannabis, during a coordinated operation conducted with Police in Urumalai, Talaimannar today (27th March 2020).
A group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command, during a coordinated operation conducted with the Talaimannar Police, had apprehended a persons for suspicious behaviour in the general area of Urumalai during curfew hours. After further interrogation from the suspect, the raiding party managed to find a 700g of parcel containing Kerala cannabis hidden in a shrub nearby. Accordingly, the suspect along with Kerala cannabis were taken into naval custody.
The accused was identified as a resident of Talaimannar, aged 27. The Talaimannar Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
