Navy apprehends two persons with over 04kg of Kerala cannabis
The Navy apprehended two persons with over 04kg of Kerala cannabis, during a special coordinated operation conducted with the divisional anti-corruption unit Galle today (12th March 2020).
Sri Lanka Navy is playing a key role to assist the national effort to ward off the drug menace from the country. As part of these operations, naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command conducted a coordinated search with the Galle divisional anti-corruption unit at Dewata, Galle. During this coordinated search, the raiding party searched two suspicious persons on the road and found about 04kg and 200g being transported by the suspects. Accordingly, the suspects along with the stock of Kerala cannabis were taken into custody.
The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of Kelaniya and Matara, aged 21 and 40. Meanwhile, the suspects along with cannabis were handed over to the Galle Police for onward investigation.
