Suspect apprehended with 191kg of Kerala cannabis

The Navy apprehended a person with a stock of Kerala cannabis, during a coordinated raid conducted with the Excise Department in Magalthurei, Jaffna today (31^st January 2020).

The Navy in coordination with the Jaffna Excise Department conducted a raid in Magalthurei, Jaffna and searched a suspicious house. During the search, the raiding party managed to find 191kg of Kerala cannabis hidden in the house. A suspect residing at the house was also taken into custody. The suspect is a 20 year old resident in the same area.

The apprehended suspect along with the stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Jaffna Excise Department for onward investigation.
