Navy assists apprehension of suspect with heroin

The Navy apprehended a person with 1g and 150mg of heroin, during a search conducted with the Police at Saalambupura in Ikirigollewa, Medawachchiya today (28^th January 2020).

As part of an anti-drug operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with the Anuradhapura Division Vice Squad at at Saalambupura in Ikirigollewa, a suspicious pedestrian has been search. Since the suspect had 1g and 150mg of heroin in his possession, he was taken into custody. The accused had been identified as a 33 year old resident of Ikirigollewa.

Meanwhile, the suspect along with heroin was handed over to the Medawachchiya Police for onward investigation.
