Navy apprehends two suspects with Kerala Cannabis

Two persons who possessed Kerala Cannabis intended for sale, were apprehended during a raid carried out by the Navy in coordination with SL Police, in Kilinochchi area, on 25^th January 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a search operation in coordination with Police STF, in Kilinochchi area and observed two suspicious persons who walked along the road. Accordingly, the two suspects were searched and found about 03kg of Kerala Cannabis which intended for sale, in their possession and the suspects were apprehended. One of them had 2kg and 500g of KG in his possession while the other one had about 500g of KG. These suspects were identified as residents of Vishwamadu and Areaekkar areas aged 31 and 34.

The apprehended suspects along with the stock of KG were handed over to Killinochchi and Mankulam Police for onward investigation. Naval operations are continuously carried out to in order to avert drug trafficking in SriLanka.
