Navy assists apprehension of 04 persons with Kerala Cannabis

The Navy apprehended four (04) persons with 1kg and 450g of Kerala Cannabis, during an operation conducted with the Police STF, in Wellampitiya on 23^rd January 2020.

Accordingly, the naval personnel in the Welisara naval base and Police STF conducted this coordinated search operation in the general area of Wellampitiya and observed four (04) suspicious persons. By further search, it was found about 01kg and 450g of Kerala Cannabis being transported by 04 suspects. Subsequently, the suspects along with the Kerala cannabis were taken into custody.

The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of Kolonnawa and Wellampitiya areas, aged 18,20,22 and 35. The suspects and the amount of Kerala Cannabis were handed over to Wellampitiya Police for further investigation.
