Navy recovers about 1.5 kg of Kerala Cannabis

The Navy recovered approximately 1kg and 500g of Kerala Cannabis during a search conducted in the beach area of Kadaikadu, Jaffna on 23^rd January 2020.

As part of the Navy’s operations at sea and in coastal areas aimed to make a country free of drugs, a search operation was conducted at the Kadaikadu beach area in Jaffna and found approximately 1kg and 500g of Kerala cannabis which was in wet condition.

As a result of Navy's continuous operations, the attempts made by racketeers to smuggle Kerala Cannabis to the country has been foiled and it is believed that this amount of KG was abandoned due to Naval raids. The recovered amount of KG was handed over to Palei Police for onward action.
