Navy assists to nab 02 persons with Local Cannabis

The Navy, during a raid conducted with the assistance of the Excise Office-Hambanthota apprehended 02 persons with about 10kg of Local Cannabis Kiriibbanara in Sooriyawewa area on 19^th January 2020.

The Navy, in support of making a drug-free society, conducted this joint raid with the Excise Office in Hambanthota had observed two suspicious persons who were traveling on a motor bike. By search of it found about 10kg of Local Cannabis in the possession of the two suspects. Accordingly, the two suspects were taken into custody.

The accused have been identified as 21 and 33– year – old residents of Sevanagala area. Hambanthota Excise Office is conducting further investigation into the incident.
