Navy assists to apprehend four persons with heroin

The Navy and Police apprehended four persons with 31.187g of heroin at Samudragama area in Trincomalee today (12^th January 2020).

The Navy has been conducting regular operations to apprehend drug traffickers in the country and large number of them have been produced for legal action. During an anti-drug operation carried out in coordination with the Police STF the Navy detected a suspicious three-wheeler in Samudragama area and found 3.187g ( 11 packets) of heroin concealed there. Four suspects who were in the three wheeler and the amount of heroin were apprehended by the Navy.

The suspects were identified as the residents of Trincomalee area in the ages of 21 and 22. They along with heroin and the three wheeler were handed over to Headquarters Police- Trincomalee for onward action.
